The National Limousine Association is now accepting applications for nominations to the 2015 Board of Directors. Applications must be submitted to the Nominating Committee, co-chaired by Rich Azzolino (Gateway Global, San Francisco, CA) and Dave Shaw (Olympus Limousines, New Port Richey, FL) by November 21 to be considered.
Seven board seats are up for election this year. All seats have a three-year term of service – from first quarter 2015 until first quarter 2018.
• Two At Large seats (includes all 50 U.S. states)
• One seat in the Central region (includes the states of Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin)
• One seat in the Northeast region (includes the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont)
• Two seats in the Southeast region (includes the states of Alabama, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia)
• One seat in the West region (includes the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming)
To run for a U.S. regional seat, your company must be located in a state within that region (see above). Any qualified individual whose company is located in the United States may run for the open At Large seat.

Copies of all applications will be provided to the Nominating Committee for verification of accuracy and compliance with the NLA bylaws. The Nominating Committee will meet to vote on the candidates for nomination and submit a proposed ballot to NLA president Gary Buffo.
Information on the candidates for the 2015 NLA Board of Directors will be published on www.limo.org. Ballots for voting will be mailed in early December 2014 and votes will be due for receipt at the accounting firm engaged by the NLA for tallying, verification and reporting by January 23, 2015. Election winners will be announced by January 26, 2015.

The National Limousine Association has released a Position Paper that addresses industry concerns over the proliferation of Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) and their effects on the passenger transportation industry.
The six-page paper, prepared by the NLA’s Executive Board, addresses major concerns that operators have raised regarding the TNCs non-compliance with transportation industry regulatory, legal, safety and insurance requirements, as well as false advertising of facts to the public that utilize TNC for-hire vehicles.
The NLA Board of Directors agreed at its June meeting, held in Washington, DC, to create a Position Paper to address the growing concerns of the business model of TNC companies. Board members were tasked with creating, defining and establishing the paper to address the growing concerns of TNC companies. They also enlisted the assistance of Manesh Rath of Keller & Heckman, NLA’s legal counsel; Louie Perry of Cornerstone Government Affairs, the NLA lobbying firm; and NLA Executive Director Philip Jagiela.
The team provided a draft to the NLA Board for review, suggestions and guidance. Exhaustive efforts were applied by all and after several minor modifications were made, a final draft was adopted. To review this document, visit www.limo.org or click here.
The National Limousine Association had the pleasure of hearing a presentation made by Anne Ferro, Administrator for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) at the annual NLA Day on the Hill event Monday June 9, 2014.
As a follow-up to this meeting, the department wanted to ensure that we all are aware that FMCSA was a webpage for limousine operators which contain materials that are intended for these passenger carriers.

The 4th Annual NLA Wine Tasting Fundraiser for NLA Charities will be held on Saturday evening, February 15 from 7 pm to 10 pm at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Proceeds will go to the Harold Berkman Memorial Fund, the association’s philanthropic arm, which in turn donates to good causes every year.
A wide selection of wines will be offered. Light refreshments also will served. Exceptional silent auction items will be available for bidding.
The event will be lots of fun, the perfect pre-show kick-off and a terrific opportunity for networking and initiating new business relationships – all with a socially responsible purpose.
